美国人权基金会(奥斯陆自由论坛)将于2月20日首次在哈佛大学举办“大学自由论坛”,邀请被中国囚禁的著名异议人士王炳章博士的女儿王天安演讲。

 

王炳章博士是中国海外民运的创始人,2002年在越南被中共安全人员绑架,后被中共当局以间谍和恐怖行动罪判刑无期徒刑。目前仍在中国广东服刑。

 

王天安2008年19岁时在公民力量做义工开始为其父亲的自由奔走呼告,10多年经历了许多磨难。数次欲探视父亲被拒,上个月被拒后,她和她一岁女儿从韩国首尔返回加拿大在北京转机时被中国政府扣押数小时并被强行转乘返回首尔的飞机。

 

公民力量创始人楊建利博士接受记者采访时说:“王炳章是我们最关心的良心犯之一,但是营救工作十分艰巨。炳章的父母在过去的几年里在思念担心儿子的痛苦中相继去世,炳章的孩子的成长期基本上没有父亲的陪伴。令人欣慰的是天安非常优秀和坚强,继承了父亲的许多特质,目前是一位优秀的律师,1989年出生的天安已经结婚生女。营救和宣扬父亲的故事是她生活的重要部分。”

于20日在哈佛大学举办的大学自由论坛上演讲的还有土耳其篮球明星、异议人士Enes Kanter,委内瑞拉的小提琴手、民主革命象征人物之一Wuilly Arteaga,非暴力抗争专家Jamila Raqib,叙利亚公民记者Abdalaziz Alhamza

 

同是人权基金会(奥斯陆自由论坛)资深顾问的楊建利博士将会出席此次在哈佛举办的大学自由论坛。他说他期待更多的人–特别是哈佛的学生和教授–出席,中国人权民主运动及其人物应然更多的人知道。

Join us at Harvard University to hear from NBA star and Turkish dissident Enes Kanter, Venezuelan violinist and revolutionary icon Wuilly Arteaga, nonviolent resistance expert and Albert Einstein Institution executive director Jamila Raqib, Syrian citizen journalist Abdalaziz Alhamza, and human rights activist Ti-Anna Wang, who was recently deported from Beijing after traveling there to see her father, Wang Bingzhang, China’s most prominent jailed human rights activist. Before the speakers take the stage, you will have the opportunity to hear an introduction from Harvard professor and best-selling author Steven Pinker.

The College Freedom Forum in Boston is free and open to the public and will begin promptly at 5:30 pm at The Harvard University Science Center, Hall B. Speaker talks will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Food and refreshments will be provided.
