我們剛剛發表了和平香港行動關於香港局勢的緊急呼籲，據我們與各界的懇談經驗，呼籲中的四個基本點（1.嚴重譴責暴力行為；2.堅決反對流血清場；3.強烈要求誠意對話；4.充分督察對話的有效進行。）非常容易被接受，有希望成為共識立場。今天上午我在布魯塞爾密集地會見了一些朋友繼續推動歐洲議會的聲明或緊急議案，下午飛奧斯陸出席奧斯陸自由論壇。已經有歐洲議員同意提出緊急議案，明天星期一，請歐洲的朋友緊急行動，遊說所在國的歐盟議員，促成歐洲議會的聲明或緊急議案。加油！
未來幾天非常關鍵，我們要停止對香港局勢毫無影響的爭論，根據香港的發展，齊心協力給予香港的學生和市民以最有力最恰當的支持。
我個人認為有兩個重點工作目標是對香港學生和市民最有力最恰當的幫助，一是降低暴力的可能性，二是提高對話的有效性。

雖然香港政府已同意於下星期二（10月21日）開始與爭真普選的學生對話，但是，近日來香港警察的暴力升級，再加上香港政府背後的中共，其十八屆四中全會召開在即所造成的清場緊迫性，使和平抗議的學生和市民處在政府暴力的高度威脅之下。在此緊要關頭，我們需要團結協力發出符合人類基本文明標準的最大公約數聲音，恰當有效地配合香港人民的抗爭行動，在即將開始的對話中爭取到正面的結果。為此，和平香港行動33個發起組織一起發出呼籲，敦請所有關心支持香港民主、自由、穩定和繁榮的人們高度關注未來幾天的香港局勢，積極爭取近距離現場監督觀察局勢的發展細節，清晰而有力地向香港政府和北京當局表明如下四點立場：
1.嚴重譴責暴力行為；
2.堅決反對流血清場；
3.強烈要求誠意對話；
4.充分督察對話的有效進行。

We, the Peace Initiative for Hong Kong Group, call for the international community to support the protesters in Hong Kong’s efforts to have a dialogue with the government — and through this take an important step toward democracy in Hong Kong.
Although the Hong Kong government has agreed to start a dialogue with students on Tuesday, October 21, protesters have faced police violence. This violence has escalated ahead of the upcoming Chinese Communist Party plenum in Beijing, which has caused a looming threat to the protesters. They may clear the streets before or during the plenum, which would likely result in more bloodshed.
Therefore, we, the Peace Initiative for Hong Kong Group consisting of 33 NGOs, calls all parties and those who care for Hong Kong democracy, freedom, stability and prosperity to follow the situation closely, and if possible, to send observers to sites in Hong Kong, and signal to the Hong Kong government and Beijing Regime that you
(1) Condemn and seek to prevent escalating violence against protesters,
(2) Oppose a bloody clearing of the streets,
(3) Ask the Hong Kong government to have a genuine intention of conducting a dialogue, and
(4) Monitor the dialogue to help make sure it is transparent and both parties are sincere.
