Throughout his life, Dr. Liu was a tireless advocate for democracy. Unjust imprisonment did not quench his desire for freedom, and his life inspired many Chinese to stand up for justice and democratic reform. The People’s Republic of China is directly responsible for Dr. Liu’s death. Tragically, hundreds of dissidents remain imprisoned and abused by their communist captors.
A candlelight vigil will take place on Monday, July 17th, 2017 at 8:00 pm at the Victims of Communism Memorial at the corner of Massachusetts and New Jersey Massachusetts Avenues NW in Washington, DC.
Dr. Liu labored and suffered on behalf of the principles of freedom for his fellow citizens. We ask that you join us in remembering his legacy by standing in solidarity with the Chinese people.
