RELEASE: PROMINENT CHINESE DISSIDENT IS INTEGRATED TO INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE PROSECUTION OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY OF THE CASTRO REGIME
Miami, Florida – April 27, 2017 – Justice Cuba
The prominent academic, democracy activist and former political prisoner Dr. YANG Jianli, announced today from Washington DC, his membership in the International Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against Humanity of the Castro Regime. Dr. YANG, president of the non-governmental organization ~Initiatives for China/Citizen Power for China~ based in Washington DC, served five years in prison in China for his leadership in the Chinese Democracy Movement. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Harvard, Dr. YANG is one of the main promoters of democratic change in China and is one of the leading authorities on the state of human rights in that country. Dr. YANG has received important recognitions, such as the Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom,Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Achievement Award
and the Morris Abram Human Rights Award.
Dr. YANG Jianli joins the commission that already has prominent members from the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Uruguay, Spain and Italy.
Dr. René Bolio, who heads the Commission, said from Mexico City: ~The incorporation of Dr. Jianli to the work of our Commission is a very important achievement that consolidates and expands the work capacity and prestige of our effort~.
